Thrift Stores.

Lately, a fad that has been trending is shopping at thrift stores.

There is nothing shopping at thrift stores because somebody’s trash could be your new treasure. You can simply find something that is only needed once or something that could be your favorite new piece. A lot of people go there to find clothes that would give them the vintage look and some go there as a lifestyle.

However, thrift stores may be cheap as is, but they can even get cheaper…

Stores like Savers have different specials on certain colored tags, if you find a product with that color tag, you could have it for 50 percent off. Surprising enough, some thrift stores even have Holiday specials as well. On different Holiday weeks, the thrift store will make everything 50 percent off, or have more tag color specials.

A popular thrift store that is well known is Buffalo Exchange. The disadvantage of this store is that it overly priced for some items. Some pieces you find here, you can find it another store for brand new. Yes, it has more fashionable and more name brand items, but it makes some consumes second thing themselves. However, you can bring a lot of your unwanted clothes and exchange them for store credit or cash. But, getting the cash buyout would only give you half of what they were offering in store credit. Also, there is a store called American Vintage. Here you can find a lot of authentic vintage pieces for a high price. Some people will find it worth it, but others will walk right out, that is your decision to make.

From personal experience, I find the best thrift stores as a local unknown one. Something that isn’t a chain but simply a place to donate clothes. I have been to one where nothing is more than 5 dollars, it was great. I haven’t been to the Salvation Army before, but I have also heard great things about them.

I hope you enjoy your thrifting experience and hope that you will keep these tips in mind.

Tips:

  • Look up local thrift stores.
  • Sort clothes to see if there is a possibility for any trade.
  • Think, “Out with the old, in with the new.”

Secret #2

Location: Forever 21

As an example, we are looking for a white button up…

Style Deals is something Forever 21 does.

They offer the latest trends at a cheaper price.

HOWEVER, they do trick you. You can find a style deal for (Enter Price Here) and then have something EXTREMELY similar with a minor tweak for a higher price.

As you can see, BOTH of the pictures are shown to be a white button up, a basic thing we need in our wardrobe, but one is only 14 dollars compared to 20 dollars at the SAME store.

Don’t be fooled when you think you can’t find something you want for a lower price.

Tips:

  • Check Forever 21 website for Style Deals before entering a store.
  • Look around the store for something similar, you might be able to find it cheaper.
Secret #1
Pins and Needles Strapless Romper
Location: Urban Outfitters
Original Price: $59.00
Price Lien Paid: $5.00
That is what I wore New Years’ Eve.
Urban Outfitters has been known to have great clothing at a high price. Well, now you can have that “high-priced” clothing very low.
This was an orange tagged romper. An orange tag at Urban Outfitters means it is on sale. Usually around a Holiday, they will have a special where any orange tagged item in the store will be an extra 50 percent off. I ALWAYS take advantage of that sale.
Sometimes, in the store it can get messy, but if you look hard enough, you will find a great deal.
Tips:
Find anything cheap and try it on. You may never know how it will look on you.
Before a holiday is about to roll around, go into Urban Outfitters and scout some items that you want and when the holiday is over, head into the store and see if it is on sale.
Patience is key.

Smart shopping?

I get it, you’re a teenager with a limited amount of money.

You see all your friends with cute new outfits and instantly want to go shopping but don’t have enough money?

Sound familiar? Don’t worry, your problems will be solved.

I am not a person to say I know everything, but I do know something, how to save money.

I have been raised with parents who pointed to the clearance rack and told me to buy clothes there. I am pretty sure my parents don’t go to restaurant unless they have a coupon for the location. I have born and raised in a household where saving money is the lifestyle.

I personally am on a tight budget as well, but constantly have new clothes because I can’t resist the great deals I find.

Well, you don’t need to go thrifting to save money, have brand new clothes for maybe an even cheaper price (:
